ਸੰਜੇ ਵਰਮਾ ਬੇਲੇ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੇਭਰੋਸਗੀ ਮਤਾ

ਅੱਜ ਨਗਰ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਹਾਊਸ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਨਗਰ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੰਜੇ ਵਰਮਾ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੇਭਰੋਸਗੀ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਸਰਬਸੰਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਦੱਸ ਦੇਣਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ (ਆਪ) ਦੇ ਕੌਂਸਲਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਨਗਰ ਕੌਂਸਲਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਜੇ ਵਰਮਾ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੇਭਰੋਸਗੀ ਮਤਾ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਬੁਲਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਕੇ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੰਜੇ ਵਰਮਾ ਬੇਲੇ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਣਦੇ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਬੁਲਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਫਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਕੌਂਸਲਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਕੌਂਸਲਰ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਨਵੀਨਰ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ , ਜਿਸਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਬੁਲਾਈ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਫੋਰਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਲਬਧਤਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਮੁਲਤਵੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਕੌਂਸਲਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸੰਜੇ ਵਰਮਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਹੇਠ ਨਗਰ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਦਾ ਕੰਮਕਾਜ ਠੱਪ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ।
ਅੱਜ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਬੁਲਾਈ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 17 ਨਗਰ ਕੌਂਸਲਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ 15 ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।
ਕਨਵੀਨਰ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਸੰਜੇ ਵਰਮਾ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੇਭਰੋਸਗੀ ਮਤਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਰਬਸੰਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੰਜੇ ਵਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਕੌਂਸਲਰ ਇਕਬਾਲ ਕੌਰ ਮੱਕੜ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਏ।
ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਦੇ ਚਲਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੰਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਆਗੂ ਬਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਕੌਂਸਲਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੰਜੇ ਵਰਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਤੀਫਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੰਜੇ ਵਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗੱਦਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਬੇਭਰੋਸਗੀ ਮਤਾ ਸਰਬਸੰਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਐਸਡੀਐਮ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਸੰਜੀਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਬਜਰਵਰ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ।

Today, in a special meeting of the general house of the Rupnagar Municipal Council, a no-confidence motion against the Municipal Council President Sanjay Verma, affiliated with the Congress party, was unanimously passed.
It is worth mentioning that many municipal councilors, including councilors of the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), had demanded a meeting to bring a no-confidence motion against Sanjay Verma. While the council president Sanjay Verma and his supporters had failed to call the meeting within the required fourteen days. Therefore, the councilors had appointed another Congress councilor Rajesh Kumar as the convener, who had called the meeting a few days ago, but it was postponed due to unavailability of police force.
The Congress councilors had said that the functioning of the Municipal Council had come to a standstill under the presidency of Sanjay Verma, hence they took such a step.
The meeting was called again today, in which a total of 17 municipal councilors participated, including 15 from the Congress and two from the Aam Aadmi Party.Convener Rajesh Kumar moved a no-confidence motion against Sanjay Verma, which was unanimously passed by all the members present on a show of hands.
