ਉਪ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੈਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਟ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਮਕੌਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਵਰਜੀਤ ਵਾਲੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਸੰਭਾਵਿਤ ਖੇਤਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਚੌਂਤਾ, ਬੜਾ ਦਾਊਦਪੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਫੱਸੇ ਆਦਿ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਪ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੈਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਟ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਪੈ ਰਹੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਤਲੁਜ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਸੰਭਾਵਿਤ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤੀ ’ਤੇ 24 ਘੰਟੇ ਚੌਕਸੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਬਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਦਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਖਤਰੇ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਹਰ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨਿਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਫੀਲਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਅਣਸੁਖਾਵੀਂ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿਰ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਵਧਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਜੇਕਰ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਵਰਗੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇਰੀ ਰਾਹਤ ਕਾਰਜ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਢੁੱਕਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਤੇ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਰੂਮ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਫੋਨ ਨੰਬਰ 01881-221157 ਹੈ ਤੇ ਐਮਰਜੰਸੀ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੰਬਰ ਤੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

Sub Divisional Magistrate Sri Chamkaur Sahib S. Amrik Singh Sidhu visited flood prone areas like villages Chauta, Bara Daudpur and Fasse etc. on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Mr. Varjit Walia.Speaking on the occasion, the Sub Divisional Magistrate said that in view of the continuous rains, the District Administration Rupnagar is keeping a 24-hour vigil on the situation in flood prone areas along the Sutlej and other rivers and the District Administration is fully prepared to deal with any situation like floods.He said that there is absolutely no need for people to panic, because the water of the river is below the danger mark. He said that despite this, the administration is fully prepared to deal with every situation.S. Amrik Singh Sidhu said that instructions have already been issued by the Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar to the administrative officers to go to the field and take stock of the situation themselves so that any untoward situation can be controlled in time. He said that if any flood-like situation arises due to the rise in water level in the river, the administration is equipped with adequate arrangements and preparations to carry out relief work without any delay.He said that for the convenience of the people, the administration has set up a flood control room at the district level, whose phone number is 01881-221157 and in case of emergency, this number can be contacted.
