ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰੌਦਯੋਗਿਕੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਨ ਰੋਪੜ (IIT Ropar) ਅਤੇ ICMR–National Institute for Research in Digital Health and Data Sciences (ICMR-NIRDHS) ਨੇ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਸਿਹਤ, ਬਾਇਓਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਡਾਟਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਈ Artificial Intelligence ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਆਪਸੀ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ (MoU) ‘ਤੇ ਦਸਤਖਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਹ MoU ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਆਹੂਜਾ, ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ, IIT ਰੋਪੜ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਮੋਨਾ ਦੁੱਗਲ, ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ, ICMR-NIRDHS ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ਦੋ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਬਹੁ-ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂਕ ਅਨੁਸੰਧਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸਾਂਝ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ, IIT ਰੋਪੜ ਅਤੇ ICMR-NIRDHS ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਟਾ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀਐਚਡੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਸਟਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਨਗੇ, ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀ ਅਨੁਸੰਧਾਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਕਰਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਫੰਡਿੰਗ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਅਨੁਸੰਧਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵ ਭੇਜਣਗੇ।
ਇਹ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ, ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਉਪਰਾਲਿਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਜੋ ਡਾਟਾ-ਅਧਾਰਤ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਸਿਹਤ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਹ MoU IIT ਰੋਪੜ ਦੀ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਖਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ ICMR-NIRDHS ਦੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਸਿਹਤ ਢਾਂਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਨੁਸੰਧਾਨ ਢਾਂਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) and the ICMR–National Institute for Research in Digital Health and Data Sciences (ICMR-NIRDHS) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of digital health, biomedical data analytics, and artificial intelligence for healthcare.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, and Dr. Mona Duggal, Director, ICMR-NIRDHS, marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration aimed at advancing multidisciplinary research and academic exchange between the two premier institutions.
Through this partnership, IIT Ropar and ICMR-NIRDHS will jointly develop and implement PhD and Master’s programs in digital health and data sciences, undertake collaborative research projects, and submit joint research proposals to national and international funding agencies. The collaboration also seeks to promote knowledge sharing through workshops, training programs, and technology development initiatives that address key public health challenges using data-driven approaches.
This MoU reinforces IIT Ropar’s commitment to bridging the gap between engineering and healthcare through translational research and innovation, while supporting ICMR-NIRDHDS’s mission to strengthen India’s digital health ecosystem and public health research infrastructure.
