ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਚਲਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ “ਯੁੱਧ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ” ਤਹਿਤ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਐਨ.ਡੀ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ. ਐਕਟ ਦੇ ਮੁਕੱਦਮੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋ 16 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਤੋ ਵੱਧ ਨਸ਼ੀਲਾ ਪਾਊਡਰ/ਪਦਾਰਥ ਬ੍ਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੱੜੇ-ਸੱਟੇ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ 5 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋ 6230/- ਰੁਪਏ ਵੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਜੂਆ ਐਕਟ ਤਹਿਤ ਮੁਕਦਮਾ ਦਰਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਵਿਚ ਅਮਨ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਨਕੇਲ ਕੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾ ਪਰ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਨਿਯਮਾ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕੁੱਲ 102 ਚਲਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।
ਇਹ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਗੁਲਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖੁਰਾਣਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ “ਯੁੱਧ ਨਸ਼ਿਆ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ” ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਥਾਨਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਸ਼ਤਾ ਰਾਂਹੀ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੈੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਥਾਣਾ ਸਿਟੀ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਬਲਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਾਸੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਕੋੜੀ ਖੁਰਦ ਥਾਣਾ ਸਦਰ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ 16 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਤੋ ਵੱਧ ਨਸ਼ੀਲਾ ਪਾਊਡਰ ਬ੍ਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਐਨ.ਡੀ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ. ਐਕਟ ਤਹਿਤ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਦਰਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਤੋ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਥਾਣਾ ਨੰਗਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗੁਪਤ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਦੜਾ ਸਟਾ ਲਗਾੳਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਨਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸੀ ਰਾਜ ਨਗਰ ਨੰਗਲ, ਵਜਿੰਦਰ , ਕਰਨ , ਕਰਨ, ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਾਸੀਆਨ DSEE ਨੰਗਲ ਥਾਣਾ ਨੰਗਲ ਅਤੇ ਲੱਕੀ ਵਾਸੀ ਨੰਗਲ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਪਾਸੋ 6230/-ਰੁਪਏ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਜਿਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਜੂਆ ਐਕਟ ਤਹਿਤ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਦਰਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਤਿਉਹਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋ ਅਮਨ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾ ਤੇ ਨਕੇਲ ਕੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਪੈਸ਼ਲ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਹੀਕਲਾ ਦੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਨਿਯਮਾ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਵੱਲੋ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪੀਕੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਚਲਾਉਣ, ਟ੍ਰਿਪਲ ਰਾਈਡਿੰਗ, ਗਲਤ ਪਾਰਕਿੰਗ, ਮੋਟਰਸਾਇਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਡੀਫਾਈਡ ਸਲੈਂਸਰਾ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਨਿਯਮਾ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆ ਦੇ ਕੁੱਲ 102 ਚਲਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।
ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਵਲੋ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਅਲਾਹਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੋਰ ਤੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨਸ਼ਾਂ ਤਸਕਰੀ/ਸਮੱਗਲਿੰਗ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਸੇਫ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐਂਟੀ ਡਰੱਗ ਹੈਲਪਲਾਇਨ ਨੰਬਰ 97791-00200 (ਵਟਸਐਪ ਚੈਟਬੋਟ) ਜਾ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਨੰਬਰਾ ਪਰ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਾ ਗੁਪਤ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

Under the campaign “War on Drugs” being run by Rupnagar Police against drug smugglers and anti-social elements, the District Police arrested a person under the NDPS Act and recovered more than 16 grams of narcotic powder/substance from him and arrested 5 persons who were involved in the racket and recovered Rs. 6230/- from them and a case was registered against them under the Gambling Act.
Apart from this, in view of the festivals, in order to maintain law and order in the district and to tighten the noose on the bad elements, checkpoints were set up at various places in the districts and a total of 102 challans were issued while taking action against those violating traffic rules.
Giving this information, SSP Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana said that in continuation of the “War Against Drugs” campaign, the district police checked drug smugglers and bad elements through roadblocks and patrols at various places. During which, Balvir Singh, resident of village Makori Khurd, Sadar Rupnagar police station, was arrested and more than 16 grams of narcotic powder was recovered from him and a case was registered against him under the NDPS Act.
Apart from this, on the basis of confidential information, Karanvir Singh alias Karan, resident of Raj Nagar, Nangal, Vajinder, Karan, Vikas, resident of DSEE, Nangal, police station, Nangal and Lucky, resident of Nangal, who were caught by the police, were arrested and Rs. 6230/- was recovered from them. Those who were arrested were registered against him under the Gambling Act.
Ssp further informed that in view of the festival, the district police have made special blockades at various places to maintain law and order and crack down on bad elements. During which, suspicious persons and vehicles are being checked continuously. Apart from this, taking action against those violating traffic rules, the traffic police of Rupnagar have issued a total of 102 challans for drunk driving, triple riding, wrong parking, using modified silencers in motorcycles and violating other traffic rules.
SSP Rupnagar appealed to the public to fully cooperate with the police to eliminate the menace of drugs and if any person is involved in drug trafficking/smuggling in their area, then their information should be shared on Safe Punjab Anti-Drug Helpline number 97791-00200 (WhatsApp chatbot) or the district police number. The name and address of the informant will be kept confidential.
