ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਚਲਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ “ਯੁੱਧ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ” ਤਹਿਤ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਲੋ ਐਨ.ਡੀ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ. ਐਕਟ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਆਦੀ 1 ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ 3 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਸੋ 32 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਨਸ਼ੀਲਾ ਪਾਊਡਰ/ਪਦਾਰਥ ਬ੍ਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਤੋ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਨਕੇਲ ਕੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾ ਪਰ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਗੁਲਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖੁਰਾਣਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ “ਯੁੱਧ ਨਸ਼ਿਆ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ” ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਥਾਨਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਸ਼ਤਾ ਰਾਂਹੀ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੈੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਥਾਣਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਮਕੋਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵੱਲੋ ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਾਸੀ ਬਾਰਸਾਲਪੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋ 8 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਨਸ਼ੀਲਾ ਪਾਊਡਰ ਬ੍ਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਥਾਣਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵੱਲੋ ਵਿਜੈ ਉਰਫ ਬ੍ਰਿਜੂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਧਰਮਪਾਲ ਉਰਫ ਧਰਮੂ ਵਾਸੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਲੋਧੀਪੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋ 13 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਨਸ਼ੀਲਾ ਪਾਊਡਰ ਬ੍ਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਥਾਣਾ ਨੰਗਲ ਵੱਲੋ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਵਾਸੀ ਨੰਗਲ ਟਾਊਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਹਾਲ ਵਾਲੀ ਓਮ ਗਲੀ ਕਿਲਨ ਏਰਿਆ ਨੰਗਲ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ 11 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਨਸ਼ੀਲਾ ਪਾਊਡਰ ਬ੍ਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਥਾਣਾ ਸਦਰ ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ ਵਲੋ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਆਦੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ ਕਾਕਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਭਜਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਾਸੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਰਹਾਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਐਨ.ਡੀ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ. ਐਕਟ ਤਹਿਤ ਮੁਕਦਮੇ ਦਰਜ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਨ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾ ਤੇ ਨਕੇਲ ਕੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਪੈਸ਼ਲ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੋਰਾਨ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਹੀਕਲਾ ਦੀ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਵਲੋ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਅਲਾਹਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੋਰ ਤੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨਸ਼ਾਂ ਤਸਕਰੀ/ਸਮੱਗਲਿੰਗ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਸੇਫ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐਂਟੀ ਡਰੱਗ ਹੈਲਪਲਾਇਨ ਨੰਬਰ 97791-00200 (ਵਟਸਐਪ ਚੈਟਬੋਟ) ਜਾ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਨੰਬਰਾ ਪਰ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਾ ਗੁਪਤ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

Under the campaign “War on Drugs” being run by Rupnagar Police against drug traffickers and anti-social elements, the District Police arrested 1 person addicted to drugs in various cases under the NDPS Act and arrested 3 persons and recovered 32 grams of narcotic powder/substance from them. Apart from this, to tighten the noose on the bad elements, checks were conducted by making blockades at various places.
Giving information in this regard, SSP Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana said that in continuation of the “War on Drugs” campaign, the District Police checked drug traffickers and bad elements through blockades and patrols at various places. During which, Amandeep Singh son of Jaspal Singh, resident of Barsalpur, was arrested by Police Station Sri Chamkor Sahib and 8 grams of narcotic powder was recovered from him, Vijay alias Briju son of Dharampal alias Dharamu, resident of village Lodhipur, was arrested by Police Station Sri Anandpur Sahib and 13 grams of narcotic powder was recovered from him, Mohit Kumar son of Surinder Kumar, resident of Om Gali Kiln Area, Nangal, was arrested by Police Station Nangal and 11 grams of narcotic powder was recovered from him and Harpreet Singh alias Kaka son of Bhajan Singh, resident of village Sarhana, was arrested by Police Station Sadar Morinda and cases were registered against him under the NDPS Act.
He further said that to maintain law and order in the district and to crack down on bad elements, special blockades were made at various places across the district. During which suspicious persons and vehicles were checked.
SSP Rupnagar appealed to the public to fully cooperate with the police to eliminate the menace of drugs and if any person is involved in drug trafficking/smuggling in their area, then his information should be shared on Safe Punjab Anti-Drug Helpline Number 97791-00200 (WhatsApp Chatbot) or the District Police number. The name and address of the informant will be kept confidential.
