ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਥਾਣਾ ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਏਰੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨੇਚਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਵਾਰਦਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਜ਼ਾਮ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੋ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਓਹਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਅਮਨ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਨਕੇਲ ਕੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾ ਪਰ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਗੁਲਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖੁਰਾਣਾ ਨੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੋਰ ਪੁੱਤਰੀ ਜੰਗਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਾਸੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਾਛੀਪੁਰ ਥਾਣਾ ਘੜੂੰਆਂ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ ਨਗਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭੈਣ ਪ੍ਰਦੀਪ ਨਾਲ ਐਕਟਿਵਾ ਸਕੂਟਰ ਪਰ ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਜਰੂਰੀ ਕੰਮ ਆਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਾਛੀਪੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੜੌਲੀ ਕਲਾਂ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਉਹਨਾ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਤੇ ਦੋ ਮੋਨੇ ਲੜਕੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੋਰ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਈ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਚੈਨ ਨੂੰ ਝਪਟ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਖੋਹ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਭਜਾਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਏ। ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਥਾਣਾ ਸਿਟੀ ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ ਦੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵੱਲੋ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਕਨੀਨੀਕ ਢੰਗਾ ਨਾਲ ਤਫਤੀਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਾਰਦਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਜ਼ਾਮ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਪਾਰਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਾਸੀ ਵਾਰਡ ਨੰਬਰ 4 ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨਗਰ ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਸਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਾਸੀ ਨੇੜੇ ਭੰਗੂ ਪ੍ਰੋਪਰਟੀ ਡੀਲਰ ਵੇਰਕਾ ਚੌਂਕ ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਅਗਲੇਰੀ ਤਫਤੀਸ਼ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਤਿਓਹਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਨ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾ ਤੇ ਨਕੇਲ ਕੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਪੈਸ਼ਲ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੋਰਾਨ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਹੀਕਲਾ ਦੀ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

The police arrested two persons who committed the snatching incident in the area of Morinda police station and in view of the festival, checking was done by setting up checkpoints at various police stations in the districts to maintain law and order and to tighten the noose on the bad elements.
SSP Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana while giving information said that Amandeep Kaur daughter of Jangjit Singh resident of village Machhipur police station Gharuan district SAS Nagar had come to Morinda on an Activa scooter with her sister Pradeep for some important work. When she was returning to her village Machhipur, two young boys came from behind her on a motorcycle near village Maroli Kalan and snatched the gold chain around Amanpreet Kaur’s neck and drove away with her motorcycle. On which the police party of Police Station City Morinda conducted a scientific and technical investigation and arrested the perpetrators of the incident, Aparjot Singh, resident of Ward No. 4, Sundar Nagar, Morinda, and Arsdeep Singh, resident of Bhangu Property Dealer, Verka Chowk, Morinda.
Further investigation is underway.He further informed that in view of the festival, special blockades were made at various places to maintain law and order in the district and to tighten the noose on the bad elements. During which suspicious persons and vehicles are being checked.
